Music for the (Bend in the) Road

listening_to_music

If you look a-ways down on my sidebar, you'll see I added some music to the blog yesterday. I'm trying it out. I'm not sure how I feel about it -- not sure if it will stay or go. I thought maybe during the holidays it might be fun to have the option to listen to some seasonal music. A lot of autumn favorites are down there right now. (ooh, I just love "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep") Click on the play arrow to listen.

Hmmm. How do you all feel about music on blogs? Do you hate it? Love it? Why?

I really should do a poll on this, but let's do this the low-tech way -- leave a comment telling me:

  • ♪  how you feel about music on blogs, and why?
  • ♪  what you think of music on this blog
  • ♪  share any autumn/thanksgiving songs you love

I don't know what it is about crooners and light jazz but that is TOTALLY Thanksgiving music to me. I like themed music on blogs. Seasonal is fun too. It's when its just random stuff that people like is when it bugs me a bit. But I have learned of so many great songs this way.

First I am loving the cranberry recipe and will be trying this one out. Thanks for that.

Music. I personally like it, but from another pole found that there are many that do not. So I put it on there but it is paused, so if you want to listen you get to choose....

I got the package today! Thank you so much. I love it!

Music on blogs - I like it as evidenced by the fact that I have music on my blog. Some people don’t, but to me the blog is there for you to express yourself and show who you are. I always want people to come to my blog, leave a comment, and hopefully come away a little happier. But my blog isn’t really for other people. It is for me and my family and other who want to know about us and who we are. It is my little corner of the internet like your room as a kid. So I say if you want music great, if you don’t want music great!

As for me and Autumn songs. I pretty much skip that and go strait to Christmas. Yes, I am already listening to Christmas music. ;-)

I like music on blogs! Can't hear yours at the moment.

Robyn, there are some people that don't like music playing right when they visit your blog -- they might be checking blogs at work, or have a sleeping baby in their arms, etc. Or, some just don't like to hear music on a blog at all! :-) I have it set up here that you can choose if you want to hear the music or not.

To listen to the music: look on the sidebar, scroll way down until you see the Playlist. Then click on the arrow/triangle to play the music.

Got any autumn or thanksgiving songs you love?

I like it when I have a choice as whether or not to hear the music. Sometimes it's fun to see what other people are into.

I've only been to one other blog that plays songs based on theme (or her current mood). It's an idea I hadn't thought of before and I really like your "theme music".

I didn't know that Autumn had it's own songs until I looked at your playlist. And then I went, "Oh, yeah! I love that one." My two favorite Thanksgiving songs are "For the Beauty of the Earth" and "Come thou Fount".

I hadn't heard the versions you had on your playlist, but I liked them too.

The versions I have heard/sung: "For the Beauty of the the Earth" (fell in love with it after watching the newer version of Little Women. So simple and pure. It was so perfect.) but also enjoyed singing the John Rutter version.

"Come thou Fount..." sung by the BYU combined chorus-- Mack Wilberg arrangement. Wow. Chills. It is on the CD "American Thanksgiving of Hymns".

I haven't tried music on my blog yet but I think it's a great idea especially if you can make it optional for the reader. Great recipes too ~ thanks.

How can listening to good music ever be a bad idea??!! (especially at this time of year!)
I don't know any Thanksgiving songs, but I do have a Christmas album that I love, it is by Hilary Weeks called "Christmastime". I love the title song and one called "God bless your way". I have yet to listen to it without my eyes watering. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
