Staycations with a Theme

spa basket
Once you've decided to take a staycation, the next step is to make it FUN. One way to do that is to pick a theme... like, turn your own home into a hotel (complete with mints on the pillows) and give everyone travel size soaps and shampoos... or have a dinosaur day... or my favorite -- how about a spa day?!  Read on for more fun ideas for staycations with a theme.

Great ideas, Wendy. I am always looking forward spending my summers with my kids, you've added extra ideas for terrific times.

Ohhhh! How fun! I took the day off so my hubby could get some much needed school work done...and maybe we'll do a staycation...sight see the town, play on every playground, and maybe we'll tour a local grocery store (and pick up some groceries!)

I loved this! Thanks!

I've enjoyed reading through your Staycation ideas. (I wish I could have been there for the live presentation!)

Thanks for posting these handouts up here! I've been wanting to do more of this with my little family.

The closest I've ever come is to imitate restaurants with home cooking. (eg. Making homemade fries and hamburgers, but presenting them in a "Happy Meal" box with a cheap toy or sticker or treat.)

I love your Staycation ideas and can't wait to give them a try!

Which idea was YOUR favorite?
