Possibilities...

Little Table

Look what I found at the thrift store! A small writing desk -- solid oak. (This thing is heavier than it looks!) It even has a little drawer.

Can't you just see it in a girl's bedroom, or tucked in a corner of a kitchen... with a fresh coat of paint? Maybe black, with toile wallpaper covering the top, all underneath a glass topper...or how about painting it white with an antique glaze? How would you decorate the top -- a small gingham check? A french country look? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Oh, I just love potential!

Oh Wendy - what a great find! And you’re right - the potential is amazing. Hmmm... I'm a country gal in my decorating style, so I'd lean toward something with Amish colors: hunter green, cranberry red. But that's just me!

I look forward to seeing what YOU do. I'm sure it's gonna be gorgeous!

Hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. What a great little desk! I just never find great things like that at the thrift stores here. I think would be really cute with a diamond pattern painted on the top and some type of border around the perimeter. Whatever you do, I'm sure it'll be gorgeous. Or you could paint it black and do some kind of scrolly pattern in gold on the top. Oh, the possibilities are just endless!

My dearest Wendy, I'm coming out of lurkdom to let you know I've been enjoying your blog. Not sure why I haven't spoken up before now. I've been kind of in the dumps but for no real reason other than not feeling tip top and a tad overwhelmed with life. Nothing serious though. :)

Anyway, I LOVE the desk you found and it certainly has a lot of potential. My inclination would be to paint it white and top it with either toile or some ginham check with a glass topper. But that is what would fit in my house, not necessarily yours! :) Can't wait to see wht you do with it!

*hugs* my kindred friend
